Oscar Unangst, Sr.
A lifetime resident of Warren County, Oscar Unangst, Sr. began his career as a dairy farmer in 1944.

Then, he owned only five grade cows that he kept on a rented farm.

Today, with the help of his wife, Linda, and their three children, Oscar owns and operates a 300-acre farm with 120 registered cows and 100 heifers.

Oscar is a well-known Holstein breeder, who served for nearly two decades as president and director of the Warren County Holstein Association. He has exhibited cattle at county and state shows for more than 40 years and received numerous awards for his accomplishments as a farmer.

A volunteer 4-H leader, Oscar is committed to teaching young people about dairy cattle. He's a man who is proud of his deep love and appreciation for agriculture and enjoys sharing his devotion with others.

Oscar is also a dedicated public servant. He served as White Township, Warren County Committeeman for 24 years, eight of them as mayor.

Oscar is an advocate for good land use management practices and leads by example. He is not afraid to express his views and firmly believes farmers have an important voice in the community and should be politically active.

Looking back, all he ever wanted to be was a farmer, Oscar says.

Farming is his life.
