2002 Annual Report

From the Governor

In the most densely populated state in the nation - a state where our citizens rank sprawl as the top challenge - we are fortunate to have a long and rich agricultural heritage.

Agriculture keeps our farmlands green and productive, enriches the quality of life in our communities, brings farm-fresh products into our homes and offers our hard-working farm families a traditional way of life that has been valued for generations.

As we plan for smart growth in New Jersey, efforts to preserve our farms and maintain a strong agricultural industry are critical to ensuring livable communities and a high quality of life here in the Garden State.

By strengthening agriculture, we will keep New Jersey green and growing in ways that will continue to enrich our lives and those of all generations to come.
