Staff Authorization

WHEREAS, we, the delegates to the 97h State Agricultural Convention are gathered in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on January 18 and 19, 2012, to discuss issues related to state agricultural policy for the coming year and to express the outcome of those discussions in the form of resolutions; and
WHEREAS, the resolutions being discussed have been presented to the assembled delegates by the Resolutions Committee based upon drafts from New Jersey Department of Agriculture staff and others representing the interests covered in the resolutions; and
WHEREAS, the assembled delegates are expected to offer suggestions from the floor as to amendments to those drafts, which suggestions will be incorporated into the final versions of these resolutions by designated New Jersey Department of Agriculture staff members; and
WHEREAS, additional resolutions for which no drafts have been written may be brought to the floor by delegates throughout these proceedings and, if approved by a majority of the delegates, must be memorialized in written form.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the delegates to the 97th State Agricultural Convention, assembled in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on January 18-19, 2012, do hereby authorize the designated New Jersey Department of Agriculture staff to incorporate into the resolutions the suggestions offered by delegates in language they deem appropriate, provided such language does not change in any substantive way the meaning or intent of the delegates’ suggestions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we authorize the designated New Jersey Department of Agriculture staff to draft and finalize the language of additional resolutions brought to the floor during these discussions, provided that language accurately reflects the meaning and intent of the delegates’ proposed resolutions.
