Across
the state, nearly 31,000 people are reported to be living
with AIDS or HIV. Governor McGreevey has invested millions
in AIDS and HIV outreach, education and prevention programs.
In 2003, the Governor established an advisory council
to strengthen New Jersey's efforts to prevent and treat
the disease. This year, the state will continue to increase
its outreach efforts by embarking on a $2 million public
awareness campaign targeting high-risk groups.
