Creating more small high schools and reducing financial barriers to higher education. The foundation is helping large, troubled high schools transform themselves into smaller, more personalized learning environments, while at the same time funding the replication of successful small school models. And to increase the number of talented low-income students who attend and graduate from college, the foundation funds scholarship programs that are helping thousands of students attend college each year. The foundation also funds programs in the areas of health, special projects, the Pacific Northwest and libraries.
