NJDOC Hosts Ceremony in Recognition of Corrections Officer Day

July 30 is designated as Corrections Officer Day in New Jersey, and the New Jersey Department of Corrections marked the occasion
with a ceremony on the grounds of the Central Office headquarters in Trenton.

The day is designed to pay tribute to all correction officers for their ongoing efforts to keep the residents of the Garden State safe. A proclamation signed by Governor Chris Christie, which directs the staff of all correctional facilities in the state to fly the American flag
and the state flag at half-staff in honor of those correction officers who have been killed in the line of duty, was read aloud at
the ceremony.
