Permit Notice

Autumn is knocking on our doorstep, and now is as good of a time as ever to explore the wild outdoors. For this season, we’ve added several new nature programs for our residents:

  • Young Naturalists Club, for kids only! Get curious on the trails of Baldpate Mountain after school.
  • Public Lands Day Event, a volunteer opportunity for local residents who enjoy some of Mercer County’s trails. This will be our first – ever, so join us for this inaugural event!
  • Nature Education Programs for Groups; appropriate for any scout group, school field trip or organized group. There are a variety of indoor and outdoor programs to choose from.

Make sure to read the newsletter for details! Our morning bird walks, adult nature hikes, family programs and preschool programs will also continue through autumn.

The Mercer County Park Commission offers a variety of nature programs and activities for adults, children and families. These offerings vary from brisk trail hikes to family- oriented pond explorations. Program participants will have the opportunity to spend time as a family, meet other outdoor enthusiasts and have an up-close encounter with nature. And, all these opportunities are at your local county parks.

Thank you again for your interest and participation in the Mercer County Park Commission’s nature education programs. We can’t wait to see you on the trail!
