• History and Establishment
    • Rosedale Park encompasses 472 acres that includes a 38-acre lake stocked with trout. This is a very popular location on the opening day of the trout season.

    • Rosedale Park was built around the lake for the sole purpose of flood control.

    • The farm was purchased by Mercer County, acquiring 3 farms. Two from the Blackwell's and one from the Farrington's. The ground was broken for the main dam in April of 1969.

    • The Hunt House, located on the grounds of Rosedale Park was likely constructed in four sections over a period of 100 years, beginning in the 1750's by the Hunt family who were among the earliest in Hopewell Township.

    • The price per acre when Mercer County, through the Parks Commission purchased Rosedale Park was for $1,800.
