HAMILTON, N.J. -Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes and other County officials gathered today at the Mercer County Geriatric Center to celebrate Mothers Day and honor the moms who live there.

Hughes, Geriatric Center staff, and Geriatric Auxiliary members handed out corsages donated by the Geriatric Center Auxiliary to the 65 mothers who reside at the facility on Hamilton Avenue.

"I'm so pleased to be with you today to honor and thank mothers here and around the world on this special day," Hughes told residents Thursday, just days before Mothers Day May 11. "The generations before us have done so much to make this County great and we want to express our gratitude to you, especially our mothers at the Geriatric Center."

The corsages were well received by the scores of moms, many of whom wasted no time pinning the flowers on their sweaters.

Mercer County Human Services Director Marygrace Billek, Geriatric Center Director Robert Ecroyd, and Geriatric Center Head of Marketing and Admissions Terry Goldstein assisted Hughes in the Mothers Day ceremony.
