Oct-19-09 Mercer County Offers Residents Free Firewood for Winter Season
CONTACT: Park Commission
(609) 989-6559 TRENTON, N.J.—Mercer County is offering its residents free firewood for the upcoming winter months. Residents will be able to pick up firewood beginning October 31 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., behind Ranger Headquarters in Mercer County Park, West Windsor. Free firewood will be available after Oct. 31, every other Saturday while supplies last. Residents are advised that firewood will not be split, but will be in manageable pieces, and will be distributed up to half-cord per vehicle on a first come, first served basis. Because this free service is offered only to Mercer County residents, participants are asked to present their driver’s license when picking up to ensure proof of residency. Chainsaws or any other wood cutting tools are not permitted at pick up. Mercer County Park Commission staff members will be present at the event to assist in loading cars. |
