TRENTON, N.J. - Mercer County will host an information session, “Welcome to Medicare,” for people new to Medicare or about to become eligible. The workshop will be Tuesday, Jan. 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue in the Acme Shopping Center, Hamilton.

Deborah Breslin, program director for the NJ State Health Insurance Program (SHIP), will lead the workshop, which targets people turning 65 who need information about their new health insurance options. SHIP provides free help to New Jersey Medicare beneficiaries who have problems with, or questions about, their health insurance. SHIP is a statewide program sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services with major funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
