HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Mercer County Park Commission is offering new programs to residents interested in getting outside for some fun exercise and fresh air this summer. Lisa Boveroux of Yoga Life of Pennington will join the Mercer County naturalist in offering a new “hike and yoga” program through Baldpate Mountain in Titusville. The program takes participants on an invigorating hike through forested trails and eventually to the summit of the mountain where they will then engage in a session of nature-inspired yoga. Utilizing the natural landscape to influence and enhance different yoga poses rejuvenates the spirit and mind while allowing hikers to re-connect with Mercer County’s natural beauty.

“We are fortunate to live in an area that is not only bustling with business, action and an array of entertainment and recreational activities, but is one of great natural beauty,” said Mercer County Executive, Brian M. Hughes. “It is important to make use of our many parks, and the programs being offered at Baldpate Mountain are an affordable and enjoyable means of doing so.”

The program was first introduced in April, during the Hopewell Valley “Come Outside and Play” event, over Earth Day weekend and was met with great success. The positive reception for the pilot of the program leads to its action this summer, and the first session begins Wednesday, June 30. Participants should be in good physical health and prepared to engage in activity of moderate intensity, as well as carry along a yoga mat or beach towel and a water bottle. This program is geared towards teens and adults, and cost $12 each.

Schedule for the hikes is as follows:
