Putting Your Garden to Bed for Winter
TRENTON, N.J. - Preparing your flower or vegetable garden for the winter months can result in a more spectacular spring and summer gardening season.

The “Putting Your Garden to Bed for Winter” workshop will discuss planting new trees and spring bulbs, taking seeds or cutting plants, watering, cleaning, mulching, storing tools and much more. The workshop will be led by Barbara Bromley, horticulturist for the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Mercer County.

The program will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10 at County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, Hamilton, in the Acme shopping center. The program is free.

Veterans' Benefits and Services
TRENTON, N.J. - Veterans from across Mercer County are invited to visit Mercer County Connection on Nov. 17 to discuss a variety of issues related to benefits and services.

Veterans can learn about referral services for transportation to VA medical facilities; employment; social services; emergency and transitional housing; affordable housing; and counseling. Veterans can also bring their questions about enrollment for benefits; disability claims and education; survivor benefits; and health care services.

The program will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wed., Nov. 17 at County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, Hamilton, in the Acme shopping center. The program is free.

“Welcome to Medicare” Workshop Explains Common Medicare Questions
TRENTON, N.J. - Everyone with Medicare has different needs. With all the options and choices you have today, it can be difficult to figure out what’s best for you and your family. At the “Welcome to Medicare” workshop, get clear, straightforward answers to common questions like: who is eligible? When can I enroll? How do I enroll? How does the Part D prescription benefit work?

“Welcome to Medicare” will be held Thursday, Nov. 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, Hamilton, in the Acme shopping Center. The workshop will be led by Deborah Breslin, program director of the New Jersey State Health Insurance Assistance Program. The workshop is free.

Planning for Incapacity Workshop
TRENTON, N.J. - Planning for incapacity is an important and often overlooked part of estate planning that covers how you are cared for in the event you become physically or mentally unable to care for yourself.

At the “Planning for Incapacity” workshop, you can learn more about planning for your future, living wills, last will and testament, power of attorney, and guardianship. The seminar, led by Susan Knispel, an attorney with the Mercer County Legal Services Project for the Elderly, will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 at County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, Hamilton, in the Acme shopping center. Senator Lautenberg's Staff to Meet with Residents at County Connection
TRENTON, N.J. - The staff of U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg will visit Mercer County Connection on Thursday, Nov. 23 to meet with residents and discuss federal government issues such as passport and immigration matters, Social Security, and tax issues.

The staff will also be able to assist with matters related to the Internal Revenue Service, veteran’s benefits, Medicare and health benefits, immigration matters, and other issues.

The free session will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 23 at County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, Hamilton, in the Acme shopping center.
