TRENTON, N.J. - Mercer County’s favorite son of rock n roll, Ernie White, ends this season’s Music in the Park concert series with the Ernie White Band “full electrical assault” on Saturday, Aug. 20 beginning at 6 p.m. on the lakefront at Mercer County Park Marina, West Windsor.
Music in the Park is a free-admission family-friendly event that offers a great time at bargain prices. In addition to the on-your-feet performance by the Ernie White Band, there will be food, wine and beer for sale. Families are welcome to bring picnic-style dinners and lawn chairs. The show runs until 8 p.m.
New to the marina in 2011 is a snack bar open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, featuring hot dogs, pretzels, ice cream, soft drinks, coffee and more. Also, bathrooms on the lower level of the marina are new this year.
The Marina offers affordable fun with pedal boat and rowboat rentals starting at a cost of $15 per hour. Single-person kayak rentals are $15 per hour and pontoon boat lake tours are $6 for adults and $4 for seniors and children under 11. The pontoon boat rides are 50-minute lake tour on Saturdays and Sundays, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Tours begin at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. and are offered on a first-come first-served basis. The boat has a 15-person capacity. Hours of operation are Wednesdays through Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 6 p.m., through Labor Day. All boat rentals are weather permitting.
