- Mercer County has partnered with the UCEDC, a nonprofit economic development corporation, in hosting a business seminar titled “Your Credit and You.” The free workshop, which is geared to established business owners and those thinking of starting a business, will take place Wednesday, March 21, 2012, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mercer County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, Hamilton.

The program will analyze the important role personal credit plays in running a successful business and will review the following topics:
  • What are credit scores?
  • How are credit scores calculated?
  • Credit myths
  • Changing your credit score
Participants also will receive a sample credit report and be shown how to interpret it. For more information or to register, contact the Mercer County Office of Economic Development at (609) 989-6059.

In addition, the County has organized the following business seminars to be held during the next several months:
  • “Marketing Made Real,” April 25 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Branch of the Mercer County Library System, Darrah Lane at Route 1 South
  • “Doing Business in Mercer County,” May 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hamilton Township Free Public Library, 1 Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. Way
  • “The Price is Right: The How-To’s of Pricing Your Products and Services,” May 23 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Branch Library
  • “How to Start a Business from A-Z,” June 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robbinsville Branch of the Mercer County Library System, 42 Allentown-Robbinsville Road
  • “The Bottom Line: Understanding Your Financial Statements,” June 27 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Branch Library.
