Additionally, it is requested that this rule be relaxed for those employees currently serving in the Hazardous Site Mitigation Specialist title series performing functions most appropriately classified in titles other than the Environmental Specialist, Site Remediation title series. It is also requested that the provisions of N.J.A.C. 4A:4-1.1 be relaxed in order to permit lateral title changes from the non-competitive title of Research Scientist 3 to unrelated competitive titles with retention of permanent status. The Director further requests that the provisions of N.J.A.C. 4A:3-1.2(d) be relaxed in order to appoint Anne Hayton, Kathleen Kunze, and John Prendergast to the Research Scientist title series. This matter was held over from the January 16, 2008 Merit System Board meeting for further review.

ACTION: The Merit System Board granted the request.
