A special meeting of the Merit System Board was held on Tuesday, February 2, 1999, at the Department of Corrections, Whittlesey Road, West Trenton, New Jersey.PRESENT: Chairwoman Janice Mitchell Mintz; Merit System Board Members, Margaret E. L. Howard, Judith L. Shaw, Julius J. Mastro, and Edward W. Verner, M.D.; Department of Personnel staff, Janet Share Zatz, Chief of Staff; Lewis Scheindlin, Deputy Commissioner; Robert McHugh, Arthur Brown and Edward Troy, Assistant Commissioners; Elizabeth Laufer, Deputy Attorney General; Henry Maurer, Director, Elizabeth A. Napolitano and Sybil Janowitch, Merit System Practices and Labor Relations.In accordance with L.1975, c.231, Janice Mitchell Mintz, Chairwoman, Merit System Board, opened the meeting with the following statement:
Notice of this Meeting was filed with the Secretary of State and sent to the Trentonian, Trenton Times, Courier-Post and Star Ledger on January 28, 1999 and posted at the Department of Personnel, 3 Station Plaza, Trenton, New Jersey.
SECTION B - MISCELLANEOUS MATTERSB-1 PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO N.J.A.C. 4A:8 (LAYOFFS) AND N.J.A.C. 4A:6-5.2 (PAR PROCEDURE: STATE SERVICE).It is recommended that the proposed amendments of N.J.A.C. 4A:8 (Layoffs) and N.J.A.C. 4A:6:5.2 (PAR procedure: State service) be approved for publication in the New Jersey Register.
ACTION: The Merit System Board approved the rules for
publication in the New Jersey Register.
