Civil Service Commission Chair/CEO Robert M. Czech, Sea Girt, has been appointed by Governor Chris Christie to the Police and Fire Public Interest Arbitration Impact Task Force. The task force was created by P.L.2010, c.105, which revises the procedure for police and fire contract disputes and imposes a "cap" on certain arbitration awards. The task force is charged with studying the effect of the bill upon local property taxes; collective bargaining agreements; arbitration awards; and other matters. Mr. Czech joins fellow gubernatorial appointees David Cohen, Esq., Director of the Office of Employee Relations; Mr. Tom Neff, Director of Local Government in the Department of Community Affairs; and Assemblyman Declan O'Scanlon, R-12, on the panel.
