Bureau administers the New Home Warranty Program, the Planned
Real Estate Development Program, the Continuing Care Retirement
Communities Program and the Landlord/Tenant Information
Service. The Bureau is responsible for
approving filings for Long Term Tax Exemption/Urban
Renewal Entities and amendments to existing Limited Dividend
and Nonprofit Housing Corporation and Association filings.
In addition, the Bureau provides assistance to condominium
unit owners, attorneys representing condominium association
boards, and board members through the Association Regulation
Initiative and to Senior Citizens and Disabled
Tenants seeking to apply for protected tenancy.

Continuing
Care Retirement Communities Program
The
Continuing Care Retirement Community Regulation and Financial
Disclosure Act requires providers of long term housing that
includes provision for medical care to file an application
for a Certificate of Authority in order to operate a facility
in New Jersey. Applications are reviewed for legal, financial
and advertising information. Helpful resources for the consumer

Home Warranty Program
State
law requires that new home builders in New Jersey be registered
with this program and provide a 10 year limited warranty
covering construction defects to their customers. The Informational

Information Service
The
Service provides information on the rights and responsibilities
of residential landlords and tenants in New Jersey. An automated
voice messaging system, available in Spanish and English,
provides information on a variety of topics and includes instructions
for ordering the Truth-in-Renting booklet. The Landlord/Tenant
Information Service cannot provide legal advice or representation.
Services are offered by directing the public to available
resources throughout the State and by providing copies of

Planned
Real Estate Development Program (PRED)
Developers
of condominiums, cooperatives and other types of shared
interest developments are required by law to register with
this program and file applications containing legal and
financial information. Requirements include submission
of an Annual Report.
