Homeowners - Get the Facts and Know Your Rights

Lead-Based Paint Disclosure Rule:

Under the Residential Lead-Based Paint Disclosure Program Section 1018 of Title X , federal law requires disclosure of information on lead-based paint hazards present before the sale or lease of most housing built before 1978. The rule would ensure that purchasers and renters of housing built before 1978 receive the information necessary to protect themselves and their families from lead-based paint hazards.

If you are looking for a place to live, New Jersey has a Lead-Safe Housing Registry that lists homes and apartments that have been certified "lead-safe."
