HMFA's Supported Housing and Special Needs Programs Department administers financing and support programs for service-enriched housing developments and housing for people with special needs and provides technical assistance and coordination within HMFA and with other state agencies. The Department works to improve the housing situation for some of New Jersey's most vulnerable citizens, including people with developmental disabilities, mental health consumers, the homeless, the frail elderly, people with HIV/AIDS, youth who are aging out of foster care, youth leaving the juvenile justice system, ex-offenders re-entering communities, and other under-served communities.
Please refer to the list on the right for details on HMFA’s program resources for developing housing for people with special needs, as well as special design considerations for your projects. Or, contact the Supported Housing and Special Needs Division at 609-278-7603.
