Allocations and Awards
The Tax Credit Allocation Division is responsible for allocating all competitive (9% Tax Credits) and Volume Cap Tax Credits (4% Tax Credits) for the state of New Jersey. The Qualified Allocation Plan, or QAP, details the selection criteria and application requirements for both 9% and 4% Low Income Housing Tax Credits.
The QAP is currently under revision and amendments have been proposed.
The proposed amendments and information about a public hearing on October 26, 2016 were published in the October 3, 2016 New Jersey Register at 48 NJR 1989, and are also published online at http://www.state.nj.us/dca/hmfa/about/regs/index.shtml
- Download the Proposed Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) - Approved July 28, 2016 by the HMFA Board for publication in the NJ Register for public hearing and comment.
Competitive 9% Tax Credits are awarded one time annually. Applications for as-of-right 4% credits are accepted on a rolling basis.
HMFA anticipates it will hold its next 9% tax credit round in March/April 2017.
