ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Seashore Gardens Foundation hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Seashore Elder Housing, LLC, which will provide seniors with a home that is not only affordable, but built according to the specialized needs of the intended public.

The project will entail the construction of 58 units, 10 of which will be reserved for those with Special Needs and feature a library, living room, community room with kitchen, and areas for individual storage. The time-frame for construction and the grand-opening is approximately 9 to 12 months. Seashore Elder Housing, LLC is sponsored by Seashore Gardens Foundation.

The ceremony included Shelley Bernstein, board chair of Seashore Gardens Living Center; Martin H. Klein, president and CEO; Richard J. Cohen, president of Seashore Gardens Foundation and guest speaker Marge Della Vecchia, executive director, New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency.

Ms. Della Vecchia presented a letter from Governor Corzine and spoke about the journey and dedication which Seashore Gardens Foundation, the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, Galloway Township, the Pinelands Commission and countless others embarked on to bring Seashore Elder Housing to fruition.

Following the speakers, the leaders of Seashore Gardens Living Center, Seashore Gardens Foundation, the business leaders and partners in the Seashore Elder Housing project, all picked up their shovels to symbolically break ground for the new construction.

Martin L. Klein, president and CEO of Seashore Gardens Living Center stated, "Seashore Elder Housing, LLC will benefit the entire community.
