Feb-07-07 DCA Now Accepting Nominations for the 2007 Connie Woodruff and Senator Wynona M. Lipman Awards
TRENTON, N.J. – In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs is now accepting nominations for the 2007 Connie Woodruff and Senator Wynona Lipman Awards. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007. “The Connie Woodruff and Senator Wynona Lipman Awards honor the work of two great trailblazers in New Jersey’s history,” Commissioner Levin said. “In the spirit of their accomplishments, this year’s awards will once again recognize outstanding New Jersey community organizations that have made it their mission to improve women’s lives.” DCA invites all individuals and organizations to participate in the awards process by nominating organizations to receive this prestigious recognition. DCA is accepting nominations in the following categories for the Wynona Lipman Awards:
The Connie Woodruff Award for Best Program will be selected from the Wynona Lipman Award nominations. Previous award recipients include The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Award nominations must be postmarked by Tuesday, Feb. 13. The Division on Women and the New Jersey Advisory Commission on the Status of Women will present the awards at a ceremony on March 13 at Douglass College’s Trayes Hall.
