TRENTON, N.J.
– New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ (DCA) Commissioner Susan Bass Levin today announced that DCA has posted on the department’s website information regarding grill safety. Included on the website is a list of Propane Grill Do’s and Don’ts, Propane Grill Consumer Safety information, and a Grill Safety Brochure.

“As the summer months approach, more people will be taking advantage of the weather by using their grills,” said Commissioner Levin. “These tips will help ensure a safe cookout for any family.”

The grill safety information is provided by DCA’s Division of Fire Safety. Safety tips include keeping the top of the grill open when lighting, not smoking while handling a propane cylinder, and not using, storing or transporting cylinders near high temperatures.
