NJRA Redevelopment Training Institute

Announces Fall Course Schedule

Institute Offers Courses on Redevelopment Planning Law,
Tax Abatements, and Project Feasibility

TRENTON, N.J. – The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) today announced that the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority (NJRA) will offer three training courses this fall as part of its Redevelopment Training Institute (RTI). The RTI focuses on outlining the redevelopment planning process in New Jersey for developers, consultants, and local government officials through classroom instruction.

"Governor Christie has made revitalizing New Jersey's economy a major priority of his administration. We all share the Governor's determination and enthusiasm in achieving that goal, which is why the NJRA is offering this valuable redevelopment training," said Commissioner Grifa, who chairs the NJRA Board. "Upon the completion of this training, attendees will be better equipped to carry out more effective redevelopment and contribute to improving the quality of life in New Jersey."

The goal of the NJRA RTI is to instruct attendees on the nuances of New Jersey's unique redevelopment process and strengthen their knowledge of real estate development and project financing. The courses are interactive and combine lectures, discussions, small group activities and workshops, questions and answer sessions and case studies through multiple learning techniques.

"Anyone with an interest in redevelopment should take advantage of these courses to become better informed and make smarter redevelopment decisions," said NJRA Executive Director Leslie A. Anderson. "Now is the time to learn from leading experts in the field how to avoid pitfalls during these challenging economic times."

The NJRA RTI, which is open to the public, will offer three training courses taught by industry leaders this fall on redevelopment planning law, tax abatements and general assessment practices in redevelopment areas, and real estate project feasibility.
