Christie Administration Registration Still Open for NJRA Redevelopment  Training Institute Tax Credit
Attendees Will Learn How to Access Tax Credits and Use Them as Capital for Community Revitalization Projects 

TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Commissioner Richard E. Constable, III today announced that registration is still open for an upcoming tax credit workshop being held on April 11-12, 2013 at the Trenton War Memorial, Delaware River Room, in Trenton, NJ. This workshop is part of the Redevelopment Training Institute hosted by the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority (NJRA), a sister agency of the DCA.　

"In the wake of recent economic hardships and Superstorm Sandy, redevelopment can prove to be quite a challenge as more organizations vie for limited available funds," said Commissioner Constable, who serves as Chair of the NJRA. "As a result, learning how to navigate and access federal tax credit programs becomes a critical component of the redevelopment process."

Millions of dollars are available each year through federal tax credit programs to help municipalities and developers redevelop cities and towns. This one and a half day workshop is designed to provide the practical details on how to competitively qualify and access various tax credit programs such as New Market Tax Credits, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Preservation Tax Credits and others, for real estate rehabilitation and development. This is a must attend workshop for for-profit and nonprofit developers, attorneys, consultants, municipalities and housing authorities.　　

The workshop will be led by expert attorneys from the law firm of Ballad Spahr and supplemented by other industry experts.　This session will answer the what, when, where, who and how of tax credits, and provide real life case studies illustrating how the specific tax credit programs can be used to stimulate private investment.　　

The workshop has been approved for 11 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits. The New Jersey Redevelopment Authority is an approved CLE Provider through the Supreme Court of New Jersey Board on Continuing Legal Education.

The NJRA Redevelopment Training Institute offers intensive training courses that focus on the redevelopment of New Jersey's communities. The Institute is designed to provide non-profit and for-profit developers, professional consultants, entrepreneurs, city/county staff, and lawyers with a body of knowledge about redevelopment, the real estate development process, and project financing.
