Christie Administration Awards Grants to Six Counties in Support of New Jersey's Most Vulnerable Children and Families

$1.68 Million awarded to Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, Middlesex, Salem and Union Counties expanding the network of Family Success Centers to better support children, youth and families

TRENTON, N.J. – The New Jersey Department of Children and Families’ Division of Family and Community Partnerships has awarded a total of $1,680,000 to six counties across the state to develop seven new Family Success Centers. The counties include Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, Middlesex, Salem and Union.

The purpose of the Family Success Center is to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering places where community residents can go for family support, information, referrals and access services at no cost to them.

“I am truly excited about the expansion of our network of Family Success Centers and how that will translate positively to the children and families we serve,” said Allison Blake, Commissioner of the Department of Children and Families. “The Centers are an effective vehicle for parents not only to access needed services, but a way in which parents can become stewards of their respective communities helping to develop services that work for them and their families.”

This expansion brings the total number of Family Success Centers across the state to 49.

Listed below are the community organizations that have been awarded funding to run a Family Success Center.  Each county will receive a total of $240,000, except for the county of Camden, which will receive funding for two Family Success Centers.
