The business and financial affairs of the Office of the Public Defender are handled by the Division of Administrative Services. Personnel matters also are overseen by the Division.

The Division also collects the fees owed to the Office of the Public Defender by its clients. In those cases where clients do not pay the fees that are due, the Division is responsible for pursing liens against them.

Also overseen by the Division are: Management Information Services (MIS), which operates the statewide Office of the Public Defender computer system; and the General Services section, which includes the mail operations and distribution of supplies.
