Fact: The difference between a car that gets 20 mpg and one that gets 30 mpg is $2,000 over 5 years (based on a cost of $2.00 per gallon of gasoline) and 10 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

Why Bother?

Onroad sources (e.g., cars, trucks) continue to be the largest contributors to air toxics, ozone, particulate matter, oxides of nitrogen (NOx), and carbon monoxide emissions in New Jersey. They are also the largest contributing sources to greenhouse gas emissions in the State, even considering advances in vehicle technology to reduce air pollution.
