NJ Green Automotive Repair Program

The purpose of the New Jersey Automotive Repair Program is to foster greater implementation of green practices among automotive repair facilities and to recognize those facilities that implement such measures.

This program is being implemented as a partnership between the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers (NJ CAR), the New Jersey Gasoline C-Store Automotive Association (NJGCA), the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP) and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). In order to properly implement this program, NJ the groups have formed a non-profit entity called the New Jersey Green Automotive Repair Council. The NJDEP will provide guidance and oversight of this Council.

The purpose of the Council is to establish criteria for certifying automotive repair facilities in New Jersey by setting quantifiable standards for certification, providing resources for repair facility owners and consumers to educate them on the benefits of going green.
