2050 GHG Emissions Scenarios Report

On-Line Tool

For better public understanding of the GHG emissions scenarios and the possible alternative future outcomes, the accompanying tool is made available. We can understand these reductions from an "allowed combustion scenario."  Under this perspective, a future scenario is developed through basic assumptions about the year 2050 and a calculation is performed to determine the amount of fossil fuel consumed in order to meet the 2050 GWRA emissions limit.  Starting with these basic assumptions about the year 2050, every scenario will represent a theoretical path to meet the GWRA 2050 emissions target.  SAGE has developed this spreadsheet tool to generate allowed combustion scenarios in order to provide context for the necessary reductions.  The tool should be used for illustrative purposes only.  Users are encouraged to review New Jersey's latest Greenhouse Gas Inventory, which forms the basis for understanding current emissions and trends here
