The Air Quality permitting program is announcing a new general permit entitled: General Permit (GP-012A) for “Perchloroethylene (PERC) Dry Cleaning Equipment”. This General Permit is for 4th generation or better dry cleaning equipment using PERC. This general permit is replacing the current general permit (GP-012) Perchloroethylene Dry Cleaning Facility”. This general permit (GP-012A) was available for public comment for a 30 day period commencing November 5, 2007.

The department evaluated all comments received and revised the draft general permit where appropriate. A response to comments document was prepared. This General permit GP-012A WILL BE available for use on February 19, 2008. To view the Notice of Availability and the response to comments document please go to:

This general permit is currently not available through NJDEP Online. Beginning 2/19/2008 the necessary forms for registration can be obtained from http://www.state.nj.us/dep/aqpp/gp.html , or by calling 609-633-2829 and requesting that the new general permit (012A) and registration form be mailed to you.

Please use the paper version of GP-012A until the NJDEP Online version is available. Submit the completed registration form with a $500.00 registration fee to the Department at:
