USEPA is seeking comment on the information it is developing to:
a) Assess how the emissions in a state impact downwind states (transport of air pollution);
b) Complete the National Air Toxics Assessment (NATA); and,
c) Complete an evaluation of a revised ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS).
Comments by New Jersey industries on previous USEPA inventories were effective to ensure accurate emission estimates were utilized. The Division of Air Quality will also review the USEPA information.
Specifically, the USEPA is seeking comment on their 2011 actual and 2018 projected air emissions inventories.
The USEPA is requesting public comments on the emission estimates, including comments verifying the accuracy of the 2011 base year inventories, as well as feedback on the data used to process the inventories for air quality model inputs. Comments are due on the 2011 inventory data by March 31, 2014 and on the 2018 inventory data by June 30, 2014.
You can access the 2011 and 2018 data for review at: www.epa.gov/ttn/chief/emch/index.html#2011. Supplementary summaries and extractions of the 2011 NEI and documentation are available from http://www.epa.gov/ttn/chief/net/2011inventory.html.
The Federal Registers for the 2011 and 2018 inventory data can be found at www.regulations.gov by entering the USEPA Docket ID No. EPA–HQ–OAR–2013–0743 and Docket ID No. EPA–HQ–OAR–2013–0809, respectively. Instructions for commenting to the USEPA are included in the USEPA Federal Registers.
