The Air Quality permitting program is announcing a new general permit entitled: General Permit (GP-019) for “Portable Equipment”.
This General Permit is for portable equipment consisting of an engine with a maximum rated power output of 1400 HP or less and associated process equipment, which may include ancillary equipment that have the potential to emit particulates only, and is operated for up to ninety (90) calendar days per calendar year at any site in New Jersey. The process equipment shall be directly driven by the engine or the electrical generating capacity of the engine, provided it is designed and used to power the engine-associated process equipment only.
This general permit (GP-012A) was available for public comment for a 30 day period commencing October 15, 2007.
The department evaluated all comments received and revised the draft general permit where appropriate. A response to comments document was prepared. This General Permit GP-019 WILL BE available for use on March 17, 2008. This general permit is currently not available through NJDEP Online.
Beginning 3/17/2008 the necessary forms for registration can be obtained from http://www.state.nj.us/dep/aqpp/gp.html , or by calling 609-633-2829 and requesting that the new general permit (019) and registration form be mailed to you.
Please use the paper version of GP-019 until the NJDEP Online version is available. Submit the completed registration form with a $500.00 registration fee to the Department at:
