USEPA PROGRAMS FOR RESIDENTIAL WOOD SMOKE

The USEPA launched its Burn Wise educational campaign in October 2009 to help reduce wood smoke pollution. The program encourages people to burn the right wood, the right way, in the right wood-burning appliance. This campaign follows the recent announcement of PM designations. In many areas across the nation, wood smoke is a significant contributor to particle pollution. The campaign message: If people burn wood, they can save money and have a safer and healthier home by following a few simple tips, as listed on the website.
