Outreach to Tourists
The Ocean County Public Affairs and Tourism Department maintains an ongoing commitment to educate tourists and visitors to Barnegat Bay about "the importance of being a good environmental citizen, especially in relation to their impact on the Bay."
Public Affairs and Tourism staff distribute public education information at public events in the Barnegat Bay watershed, through local tourist hotspots, in mailings, and on literature racks in public buildings. Their efforts are supported with funding from the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
The Ocean County Public Affairs and Tourism Department helps support the following actions in Governor Christie's 10-point action plan to restore and protect Barnegat Bay (details at www.barnegatbaynj.gov): Action #8: Educate the public
