Welcome to the Environmental Management Program web pages. The Environmental Management Program covers Air Quality, Solid & Hazardous Waste Management, and Environmental Safety & Health. These programs, in coordination with other programs within the Department, work to ensure a healthy environment by minimizing the risks of pollution from a variety of sources – from our cars to our biggest manufacturing plants.
Consistent with the Department’s mission to reexamine its priorities and the effectiveness of its programs (http://www.nj.gov/dep/commissioner/2010transformationplan.pdf ), I am committed to reexamining the core missions and business practices of the Programs within Environmental Management to create “the foundation for structural change that will make the DEP an effective organization for years to come”. DEP Vision Statement (http://www.state.nj.us/dep/commissioner/vision-priorities.pdf). I trust that our paths will cross as Environmental Management makes those structural changes.
I encourage you to utilize Environmental Management web pages as a tool to address any questions you may have on the our programs. Please check back frequently as I plan to use these pages as one mechanism to report out on program efforts and changes.
I look forward to working with you as the Department reexamines its efforts including the oversight and administration of Environmental Management.
