Bureau of Mobile Sources

The Bureau of Mobile Sources implements strategies to reduce diesel emissions statewide, due to the significant health risks including cancer, heart and lung disease, and premature deaths. Strategies to achieve this goal include the Mandatory Retrofit Program, the Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicle Inspection Program and the implementation of idling restrictions. The bureau also oversees projects to reduce diesel emissions at New Jersey's ports and construction sites.
