INFORMATION FOR NEW SOLID WASTE APPLICANTS – Self Generators
The Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) requires ALL solid, medical and hazardous waste transporters to register with the Department prior to transporting or disposing of waste in New Jersey. N.J.S.A. 13:1E-1 et. seq., N.J.A.C. 7:26-3.2 and N.J.A.C. 7:26G-7. Transporters hauling self-generated waste need to apply for an “exempt” permit by filing a registration statement with NJDEP and apply for decals.
Beginning September 2011, the Department will offer two options for applying for an exempt Solid Waste transporter permit:
If you would like to apply as a Hazardous Waste Transporter, you must call (609) 292-7081. Commercial Transporters must file an A-901 Disclosure - see below.
INFORMATION FOR COMMERICAL WASTE TRANSPORTERS – A-901 License
Companies hauling waste generated by another person are required to obtain a license (commonly referred to as an “A-901 License”). You must file a Disclosure Statement, obtain a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN), and file a registration statement with NJDEP and apply for decals.
