of Landfill and Hazardous Waste Permitting
The Bureau is responsible for administering the permitting and other regulatory approval processes for New Jersey's Solid Waste Landfills, Resource Recovery Incinerators, Hazardous Waste facilities, Class D Used Oil and Electronic Materials Recycling Facilities, the beneficial use of waste materials, administers the Regulated Medical Waste Program and also performs Open Public Records Act administration activities for the Program.

Permitting and Landfill Closure - Reviews Solid Waste Landfill permit applications for consistency with the regulatory requirements at N.J.A.C. 7:26 and issues solid waste permits for the operation of Solid Waste Sanitary Landfills. The section also reviews applications for the closure of nonoperating landfills.
