The Open Space Land Acquisition Unit works together with municipalities,
sewerage and utility authorities, and other local government units
for the purpose of providing low cost loans for open space land acquisition
and conservation for passive purposes (hiking, cross country skiing,
horseback riding, etc.). Each parcel or portion of a parcel to be
funded through the Environmental Infrastructure Financing Program
must demonstrate a water quality benefit. This funding can be used
to fully fund the purchase or as a supplemental funding source to
the Green Acres Program.
