Division of Pesticides, Waste and Underground Storage Tank Enforcement
The Division of Pesticides, Waste and Underground Storage Tank Enforcement, under the direction of Director Knute Jensen, is responsible for the following five areas of operation:
- Performs routine inspections and compliance assistance involving the regulation of pesticide use, sale, distribution, and manufacture in the State of New Jersey.
Licensing and Pesticide Operations - Administers exams and licenses for the following: Landscape Irrigation Contractor Certification, Water/Wastewater Operators Licensing, Pesticides Applicators and Underground Storage Tank Certification.
Hazardous Waste Compliance and Enforcement - Enforces the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and for conducting roadside inspections of hazardous waste haulers, among other duties.
Solid Waste Compliance and Enforcement - Undertakes compliance and enforcement activities to ensure that solid waste is collected, transported and disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner and in a competitive marketplace.
UST Compliance and Enforcement - Inspects Underground Storage Tanks within the state and enforces UST regulations.
