TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Welcome to the Hazardous Waste Compliance and Enforcement (HWC&E) Training Opportunities page.  Our goal is to provide the regulated community with the information they need to better understand the regulations and maintain compliance. HWC&E initiated the training program as part of our Strategic Plan.  Goal #2 of the Strategic Plan states that we will “effectively balance compliance assistance, enforcement and education to achieve compliance and move the regulated community and the public towards environmental stewardship”.

HWC&E is planning to present two seminars this year. This spring we will rerun the “basic” Hazardous Waste Handler Seminar, which was attended by many of you in 2006 and 2007. In addition, we are planning a “new” seminar on the subject of Universal Waste & Used Oil (Class D Recyclables), which will be offered sometime next fall. Further information on these seminars can be found below along with space for you to provide us with your contact information. As always, these seminars are free.

Hazardous Waste Handler Seminar

We are pleased to announce the next Hazardous Waste Handler Seminar has been scheduled for May 7, 2008 from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. The seminar will be held in the auditorium of the New Jersey State Police building located at the Horizon Center in Robbinsville, NJ. To locate the New Jersey State Police building open the Directions.

This seminar provides a thorough overview of State and Federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations. Large, Small, and Conditionally Exempt Generators, Transporters of hazardous wastes and used oils, and Universal Waste Handlers are encouraged to attend.

As stated above, this is a rerun of the “basic” Hazardous Waste Handler Seminar, which was attended by many of you in 2006 and 2007. If you have already attended this seminar please feel free to send other individuals from your organization. For a list of what subjects will be taught that day, open the Agenda. To register for this seminar please complete the registration information below. We will follow-up by e-mailing you the agenda and directions when we get closer to the event.
