The PCP has two databases, one that manages
the pesticide applicator & dealer licensing program and another
that manages the pesticide product registration program. One can
now retrieve live information from these databases over the internet
through the DEP
On-Line Reports Portal. A number of reports have been
developed where the user fills in a prompt, such as a license
number, and information from the database is retrieved based on
the prompt information entered.
Some of these reports are designed for anyone
to use, where prompt selections are made from a dropdown list
(example: a list of all applicator business license numbers
in the database). Others are designed for the regulated community
to use, where the prompts limit their use to a specific licensed
person or business. Those reports contain information that is
specific to the licensed person or business that would not be
useful or of interest to anyone else.
Some of the reports currently available for
anyone to use allow for searches of applicator businesses (pest
control companies) by their license number or company name.
One can also search for such businesses by the county they are
located in and the type of pest control work they claim to do.
That report would be useful to the general public when looking
for pest control services in their area.
Some of the reports designed for the regulated
community to use allow for searches for upcoming recertification
courses, which would be useful to commercial and private certified
applicators for their continuing education requirement, or for
applicants to verify what exam date and site they were assigned
for taking their certification exams.
Other reports being developed will allow commercial
and private certified applicators to check their recertification
status and for anyone to determine if a specific pesticide product
is registered for use in the state, or is classified for restricted-use,
which requires a license to purchase, use and sell.
