The Pesticide Laboratory provides the PCP with
analytical and technical support for enforcement cases and monitoring
projects. Analyses of pesticide residues are performed on such
environmental matrices as sample wipes, water, air, soil, and
vegetation. The laboratory's strict quality control guidelines
assure a high level of analytical accuracy and precision.
The laboratory also takes part in special projects
such as monitoring surface and ground water at golf courses
to insure that IPM practices are minimizing pesticide runoff.
For some projects the PCP laboratory works with other agencies
such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Food
& Drug Administration, and the Environmental and Occupational
Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI), and in rare instances accepts
samples from other sources.
