Compliance & Enforcement
is comprised primarily of media specific program
areas each headed by managers who report to the
Assistant Commissioner. In addition to the programs
below, the Assistant Commissioner for Compliance
& Enforcement has a role in ensuring consistency
in all departmental enforcement activities as the
department is committed to handling all compliance
related issues in a manner that maximizes predictability
and standardization of department actions and policies.
Programs outside C&E that conduct enforcement
activities include: Dam Safety, Fish and Wildlife, Pollution
Prevention, Quality Assurance, Radiation, Release Prevention and Site Remeditation. DEP's Compliance and Enforcement also maintains an effective partnership with the Environmental Crimes Bureau within the Department of Law and Public Safety’s Division of Criminal Justice enabling prosecution of serious offenses to the fullest extent of the law.
