If your land contains freshwater wetlands, you are very limited in what you may do in the wetlands.

Many wetlands in New Jersey are forested areas without visible standing water.

For a definite determination, you may need to hire an environmental consultant.

A settlement agreement may require compensation at a ratio of up to 3 times the area of wetlands disturbed that has not been satisfactorily restored.
