SEA DUCK SEASON OPENS SEPT. 18

Sea Duck Season in New Jersey opens on Sept. 18. According to the Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife, hunters are limited to hunting in the Special Sea Duck Area (see Migratory Bird Regulations) and the bag limit is 7 daily with a season possession limit of 14. Note that no more than 4 ducks in the bag limit may be scoters. Sea duck species include oldsquaw, white-winged, surf, black scoters and common eider. Also note that outside the Special Sea Duck Area and during the regular duck season, sea ducks are included in the daily bag limit of 6 ducks.
