Deer Check Station Changes/Updates in Bergen, Morris and Warren Counties

September 8, 2004

Important deer check station changes in Morris and Warren counties for the 2004-05 deer seasons have been announced. In addition, a new check station has been added in Bergen County. Hunters are reminded that they should bring their deer to a check station nearest to where the deer was harvested.

N & G Auto Service (Gulf Station), located at 575 Broadway in Norwood, Bergen County, has been added as a deer checkstation for the 2004-05 deer seasons. N & G Auto Service will be open for all deer seasons in 2004-05.

In Morris County, Fishing Plus, located at 180 Parsippany Road behind the Green Hills Shopping Center, will not open as a deer check station. Hunters may instead check in their deer at either Bordy’s Outdoors, 177 Columbia Turnpike in Florham Park; Bob Riley Auto Repair, 22 Merry Lane in East Hanover; or at New Vernon Coach & Motor Works, 960 Mt. Kemble Ave. in New Vernon, all of which are open to check deer during every season.

Lyle Smith’s The Big K (Johnsonburg, Warren County), located at 606 Rte. 519 (Hope-Johnsonburg Rd.), has undergone an ownership change. The new ownership has opened at the same location as the Dark Moon Tavern (Shiloh General Store). The Dark Moon Tavern will be open to check deer during every season in 2004-05.
